It is likely that some sort of caching of user credentials or connection settings is causing the problem but at least we got around it. The title of this FAQ is not clear. The work-around is to connect directly to a share, adding the NetBIOS port number to the mix like so: smb://fileserver:139/sharename. How about this situation? the only way i found round this was to make the shares I have on my network drive ftp shares also and use fireftp in irefox to manage the files, far Issues ranged from visibility in Finder to unable to look up by netbios name and having to use ip address and other various issues.
